MASTER MINDFULNESS COACH
- Founder of Herst Wellness
- Mindfulness teacher since 1997
Chad has focused his entire career on wellness and mindfulness. After a brief stint working for his family's business, he became an acupuncturist and has been teaching mindfulness since 1997. His specialty is helping people connect mind with body.
He is a longtime student of Eastern spiritual traditions, starting at the age of 18 when he first went to India to study yoga. Pattabhi Jois, the founder of Ashtanga yoga, authorized Chad to teach his method in 2005. Chad has taught all over the world and co-established a top Ashtanga yoga program in San Francisco.
Chad has been coaching executives to develop emotional intelligence and reduce stress using mindfulness techniques since 2009. When appropriate, he combines coaching with acupuncture and herbal medicine for a faster path to change.
Chad is both an executive coach and a master mindfulness teacher.
The crux of his work with leaders is based on the understanding that the body senses things that the mind can’t. If you rely on your mind alone to make decisions, you miss important signals and opportunities. Chad works with leaders to strengthen their mind/body connection so that they consistently take actions based on their goals and intentions rather than fear.
He also works with leaders to strengthen their emotional intelligence so that they inspire the best from those they lead. Chad incorporates mindfulness-based practices with leadership coaching to help improve:
"My work is around emotion and it's in supporting people to create emotional spaces where people feel good."
